Anne Kelly Laynor has been in the private practice of law since 1987 and has been focusing almost exclusively on family law since she founded the Law Office of Anne Kelly Laynor in 2001. She represents clients in the negotiation and preparation of separation, custody, support and property settlement agreements and, when necessary or appropriate, in litigation pending before the Circuit Courts of Maryland. Anne is experienced in litigating contested divorce, custody, support and marital property matters. She is also a certified mediator, a certified best interest attorney, child advocate attorney, and child’s privilege attorney.
Anne has been active in Bar Association activities since she was admitted to the practice of law. She has held executive positions with the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland, the Baltimore City/Baltimore County/Carroll County Chapter of the WBA, the Howard County Chapter of the WBA, and the Bar Foundation of Howard County. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Women’s Bar Association, the Hon. James Macgill American Inn of Court, the Maryland Bar Foundation, the Bar Foundation of Howard County and the Howard County Bar Association. Anne was named to Maryland Super Lawyers for Family Law every year since 2011. She received the Conwell R. Sapp Award from the Howard County Women’s Bar Association in June 2014, honoring her for her service to the organization and for serving as a friend and mentor to many along the way.
After growing up in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Anne attended Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in 1982. Anne graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law, J.D. with honors, in 1987. Anne was sworn in as a member of the Maryland State Bar in 1987. Anne and her husband, Jeff, have two daughters.
