Katherine “Katie” F. Thomas, Senior Associate Attorney at FLAG is dedicated to providing families with personalized representation and is especially passionate about helping children with special education needs.
Katie grew up in Montgomery County and attended Loyola University, Maryland. She graduated with a double major in Communications and Spanish. While at Loyola, Katie interned for the Honorable John C. Themelis, in Baltimore City’s Circuit Court.
Katie attended Francis King Carey’s University of Maryland School of Law. While there, she dedicated time to the Clinical Law Program. As a Rule 16 attorney, she worked on the Prisoner Assistance Project and was a teaching assistant for the Criminal Defense Clinic.
Katie previously served as the Chairperson for the Local Interagency Coordinating Council for Montgomery County’s Infants and Toddler Program and continues as a parent member on the LICC. Additionally, she has been honored to speak at many Washington, DC events about her experience with raising a medically-fragile child with special needs.
Katie lives in Montgomery County with her husband, children, and dog. When not working, she is a busy mom who loves to cook, do puzzles, and play golf.
